A Message from the Principal
Dear Riverside families,
Welcome to Riverside Elementary School, home of the Rams! I’m Principal Henderson and I am a proud graduate of Grants Pass High School class of ’95 and have been working in Grants Pass School District 7 for over 22 years. This will be my 8th year as the principal of Riverside Elementary School. I have two amazing boys that are also District 7 students that have come through Riverside. I was a science and math teacher at North Middle School prior to becoming an administrator and coached wrestling and track.
Riverside truly is a special place that is dedicated to a family atmosphere and our goal is to create a loving, consistent environment where your children will grow academically and socially and will build lifelong relationships and memories. The last few years have been very successful for our students. We are focusing on improving attendance rates, we made some amazing growth in reading and math, our discipline numbers are down, and our students have multiple opportunities for positive and fun experiences every year. We are hopeful to continue to make even more positive impacts, growth, and opportunities for our students and families this year! I am hopeful we can make the 2023-2024 our most successful year ever.
This year, we will continue to focus on academic rigor, positive relationships, attendance, and family involvement. We welcome your support and involvement whenever possible. We believe that communication and collaboration are key to a successful school year, and we encourage parents and community members to stay involved and engaged in what we do.
