Message from the Principal
August 8, 2022
Dear Riverside Families,
Welcome to the 2022-23 school year! I am excited about the upcoming school year and the growth our students will continue to make! Last year was a very successful year for our students. Our attendance rates were up, we made some amazing growth in reading and math, our discipline numbers were down, and our students had multiple opportunities for positive and fun experiences again. We are hopeful to continue to make positive impacts, growth, and opportunities for our students and families this year! I am hopeful we can make the 2022-2023 school year even more successful!
Riverside truly is a special place that is dedicated to a family atmosphere and our goal is to create a loving, consistent environment where your children will grow academically and socially and will build lifelong relationships and memories. It’s an absolute pleasure and honor to be the principal at Riverside and I truly love our students and staff! Thank you for trusting us to provide quality experiences for your children!

Please know, at Riverside, we are here for kids and our work starts with the relationships we build. We are a family, we are a team, and we are here for kids! I truly believe Riverside is a special place and I appreciate the hard work that not only our staff has put in, but also the hard work and dedication of our families. I truly believe the positive impacts our relationships have with our students will last a lifetime. This year, more than ever, we will focus on intentional relationships and intentional teaching, we want your students to make the most growth possible both academically and socially. My goal is to continue supporting staff, students, and parents while making Riverside a family atmosphere dedicated to student growth. I am excited to continue building relationships and helping our students achieve their best! Our theme this year will continue to be “Team Riverside – We show up and never give up” with an emphasis on being a team and on showing up physically (attendance) and mentally (always ready to learn/work) while never giving up and persevering with a family approach.
It’s an absolute pleasure and honor to be the principal at Riverside and I truly love our students, staff, and families! Thank you for trusting us to provide quality experiences for your children!
A few bus stops might have changed so please double check your bus stop and times prior to the first day of school. You can find the bus routes and schedule on the Grants Pass School District website.
Enjoy the rest of the summer and we look forward to having our students back in school! Please make sure your students have a chance to continue reading at home over the next few weeks. My office is always open to parents and students, please contact me if you have any concerns, questions, suggestions, and even when you have praises.
