For the fifth year, every elementary student in Grants Pass School District 7 will participate in One District, One Book. It’s a program designed by the district’s Literacy Specialists to create a shared reading experience across the entire school community.

The book for the 2022-23 school year is Toys Go Out by Emily Jenkins. The book is a collection of six stories chronicling the adventures of a young girl’s beloved toys.

Beginning Friday, April 7, students and staff will read through Toys Go Out on a shared reading schedule. Kids will read along with teachers, principals, or other special guests in class or via video, and there will be activities associated with each day’s reading. Students can also catch the question-of-the-day on KRRM 94.7 with radio host Jason Allen each morning. Individual schools may create additional activities associated with the reading.

One District, One Book will wrap up on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
